Apostolos is a London-based theatre director. He was born and raised in Greece, where he began his involvement in theatre through acting. He continued to develop his skills by attending seminars and courses on physical theatre, dramaturgy, and directing in Athens and Chania, Greece.
In early 2020, he made his first directing endeavour with an adaptation of the last part of Holiday Trilogy by Carlo Goldoni.
He is a graduate of MA Text and Performance of Royal Academy of Dramatic Art and Birkbeck since 2022. Since then he has attended directing courses and workshops (RCSSD, Katie Mitchel, The Chekhov Collective) and he’s been working as a theatre director. His most recent work includes devised pieces, What do you want (2022), as well as new writing, Come to our show (please) (2023).
In addition to his theatre background, Apostolos possesses a background in engineering and computer science, acquired through his studies and work experience, which proves beneficial in his role as a theatre maker.
His directing style relies on collective work with ensembles of actors to create stage compositions, utilising physical theatre techniques and devising methods. He is interested in creating theatre that addresses social issues, inequality and oppression. Either through revivals, new writing, or devised pieces, he is eager to create theatre that inspires and raises questions.
